With Summer still out of sight this Fruit & Veggie Smoothie will surely boost your immune system. Fruits and vegetables help you stay healthy and contain a lot of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Apart from fruits, this Smoothie contains, Celery, Spinach and fresh Basil. Spinach might not sound very appealing to you, but it has a high nutriotional value and is extremely rich in iron and antioxidants. It might surprise you but it's even very mild in flavor. The advantage of drinking Veggie Smoothies is that you are eating all parts of the vegetables, including its fiber. The added fruits will help to give a bit of a sweet taste to it! Even though the colour of this Smoothie might look a bit appaling to you, it tastes delicious and it's super healthy!

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup of Cranberry Juice
  • 1/2 a cup of yoghurt
  • 1 sliced apple (sweet tasting apples are better)
  • 3 strawberries
  • 1 handful of Black Currants
  •  half a banana
  • 1 celery stick
  • 1 handful of fresh Spinach
  • Some fresh Basil
  • A bit of Honey
Combine everything in blender. Blend until smooth.

Tricolore Salad

Last night I tried out a new recipe that I found on the internet. As I did not have all the ingredients needed, I whipped up my own version. It was wonderful! Normally I prepare a Tricolore Salad containing just tomatoes, basil and mozzarella. But as I had quite some avocados lying around it seemed like the perfect moment to try it out. Even though avocados are high in fat -- a thing we women do not appreciate -- their health benefits are great So try out below recipe: it's simple, tasty and so healthy!

You will need (serves 3 people):

1 avocado - peeled, pitted and diced
4/5 large ripe tomato, chopped
125 g mozzarella, diced
2 table spoons of basil (pesto)
some lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste

In a medium bowl, combine avocado, tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, and lime juice. Gently toss until evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper. Chill before serving! Buon Appetito!

Roller Fun!

Working with felt is just one of the greatest things! The material is very easy to work with, it comes in great colours and you can make almost anything! Yesterday I tried my luck on a new trendy keychain. The detailing was quite time consuming, but I love the result!

Bling Bling....

My little girl just loves bling bling. She asked me to decorate her new sneakers. With some Gem-Tac and crystal Rhinestones (size 20) I whipped up these. At first I thought it would take me a lot of time and effort to finish them. But it only took 2 hours to complete them. Tomorrow I will post the finished pair!

Fast Finish Decoupage

Today I've tried out one of our new Beacon products. As I had a little birdhouse laying around for quite some time, I decided to give it a go. First I made a selection from my Eskimo Kisses paper pad to decorate the birdhouse with. I was surprised how easy it was to apply to the wood. Apart from wood it can be used on many types of surfaces like
plastic, glass, paper mache, cardboard, ceramics, metal and more. You can create wonderful gifts and great home decor items such as jewelry boxes, pottery, picture frames, decorative plates and much more. As it is perfectly safe for children to use it's great fun to do a project together! Fast Finish Decoupage is now available in our shop!

I might add some more fun decorations like ribbon, trims, felt flowers, etc.. but here's the result so far...

Britannia rules the waves!

I just love the British Flag also known as the Union Jack. It's a combination of the three flags of the United Kingdom's countries England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The intense color scheme in combination with the great pattern makes this flag a great source of inspiration. Union Jack inspired products are quite popular at the moment and are making a huge impact on
interior designs. However, just stick to only a few items in your interior, do not overdo it! Less is more!

Crème au beurre I used some Royal Icing covered with a typical Dutch decoration "wit met blauwe muisjes". Quite happy with the result!
